Joseph Driscoll

Joseph R. Driscoll, age 82, of Girard, passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Manor, surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born in Erie on August 6, 1934, a son of the late John Driscoll and Eda Niksa.

 After serving in the Naval Air Corp during the Korean Conflict, Joe worked as a Welder, then as a QA Inspector at Eriez Magnetics for 36 years, retiring in 1997.  After retiring, he worked at the Erie Auto Auction in Fairview and delivered Meals on Wheels.

 Joe enjoyed spending time at the Tri-Boro Senior Center, hunting, fishing and bowling – which he continued doing until 2016.  He loved to play the lottery.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Leroy “Butch” Driscoll and Butch's wife, Patty, and a sister in law, Virginia Cornwell.

 Joe is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda L. Poulson Driscoll; his children: Brenda Nakoski and her husband Dan of Cibolo, TX, William Driscoll of Girard, Kathryn Wehner and her husband Rick of San Antonio, TX and Wendy DeArment and her husband Rich of Girard; four grandchildren: Scott and Justin Brumbaugh, Ted Wehner and Richie DeArment; a great granddaughter, Emily Brumbaugh; and his siblings, John Driscoll and his wife Dorothy of Fairview, Patricia Lukowich and her husband Paul of Lakeland, FL, Donna Loper and her husband Ron, Margaret Wisinski, all of Erie, and Timothy Driscoll and his wife Sharon of Phoenix, AZ. He is further survived by a half brother, Mark W. Ziacik, a brother in law, John Cornwell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Tuesday from 2pm until the time of the service at 5pm.

 Private Inurnment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
