Jose Alicea Gonzalez

Jose Alicea Gonzalez, age 69, of Conneaut, OH, reunited with God and his wife Joy on Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to the late Manuel Alicea and Ramona Gonzalez.

Jose worked for Fairview Evergreen Nurseries for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, scrapping metal, and helping others. Jose was the most humble man, always speaking of God and Jesus. He loved spending time in the Country Fair in Fairview for hours.

In addition to his parents, Jose is preceded in death by his wife, Joy, and his brother, Julio.

He is survived by his children, Jolene, James, Jacob (Wanda), and Jessica (Mark), by his grandchildren, Trezla, Trizton, Marissa, Kyle, Maddy, Christian, Jake, and Sophia. Jose is further survived by his sisters, Lisa Avila (Louis), and Daisey Alicea, by his niece and nephews, Jose, Alex, and Jocelyn, and a best friend, Karen Proper. He is survived by many more siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10^th Street, Erie. A graveside service will be Sunday, December 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 4523 Love Road, Erie.
