John G. "Jack" Wood

John G. (Jack) Wood, age 72, of Erie passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at his home. He was born October 16, 1951 in Erie the son of the late James G. and Kathryn (Knapp) Wood. A lifelong resident of Erie, Jack worked as a carpenter, most recently with Dave Colona Construction and South One Supply. Jack was a member of the Cascade Club and a very active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. He also enjoyed playing handball at the YMCA.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (Bobbie) Foster Wood who died in 2017.

Jack is survived by his son, Justin G. Wood of Erie; a brother, Richard Wood of Erie; a sister, Judy Idzick of Visalia, CA; a cousin, Tyler Wood and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Downtown, 602 W.10th St. on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Church or their food pantry.
