John Patrick Winschel age 60, of Erie passed away, Saturday, March 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Erie on March 4, 1961 a son of Marie Rossi Winschel Bongiorno of Erie and the late Richard “Bud” Winschel.
John was a graduate of Cathedral Prep in 1979 and received his Horticultural bachelor’s degree from Williamsport Community College.
John and his brothers founded Winschel Brother’s Landscaping and was owner operator for over 35 years.
He loved his family, hot rods, and boating; and was always working for his business.
John especially enjoyed being with his friends, cracking jokes, quoting favorite movie lines, talking about something to be done down the road. He took from us little, but gave us his jovial nature, his honesty, his loyalty and his love. Good bye my friend, “it’s been one hell of a ride”.
In addition to his mom, John is survived by his sister, Anne E. Miczikus and her husband Peter; two brothers, Michael R. Winschel and his wife Maureen; Thomas A. Winschel and his wife Lisa; His companion, Tammy Brown; nieces and nephews, Anthony, Carla, Alaina, Natalie, Lauren, and Tim; as well as many great friends.
Friends may call at 675 Langdon Road, Erie, PA 16509 on Tuesday, March 30th from 11 am until 2 pm; followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard, Pa 16417.
