John Wilson

John Allen Wilson, age 83, of Erie and formerly Chicago, IL passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Saint Vincent Medical Center.

Born in Chicago, IL on February 9, 1929 a son of the late Leona Miller. John served with the United States Army in Korea where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Service Stars. John enjoyed his family and friends and liked watching all sports. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and when he met his wife Frances he later joined

#2 New Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Coleman.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Frances Wilson; two sons; Frank and John (Tammie) White, of Chicago; a daughter, Patricia, of Chicago; two stepchildren, Trina Hunter and Floyd Tilman, Jr. of Erie; a sister, Vera Gibson, of Chicago; and a host grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at Second Baptist Church 757 East 26th Street Friday at 11a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Allen B. Green officiating.

Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
