John Wells

John DeWayne Wells, age 67, of Erie passed away Tuesday August 9, 2022 at UPMC Hamot Hospital.

John was born September 2, 1955 in Chicago, IL to John Wells and Isabelle Norwood. Upon the marriage of Isabelle Wells to James D. Clinton, the family moved to Erie PA where John resided until his death.

He was a graduate of Academy High School. John worked various labor jobs throughout his life.

John enjoyed hanging out by the water, shooting pool, Cadillacs and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son Jason Wells, brother Greg Wells, two sisters Phyllis Nevins and Hildreath Holis, his parents Isabelle and John Wells, and his step-parents James and Lucille Clinton.

He is survived by his nine children Leoni Wells of Chesterfield VA, Melissa Moss of Erie PA, Isabella (Brian) Snyder of Shelby NC, Sharae McClendon of Pittsburgh PA, Kareisha Jackson-Cargyle of Charlotte NC, Antione Wells, Christopher Williams, Maurice Williams, and John Wells Jr all of Erie PA: his siblings Monique Clinton-Graves of LaGrange GA, Sheila Brown of Port Richey FL, Regina (Emmanuel) Vinson of Philadelphia PA, Lorretta Clinton of LaGrange GA, Vanessa Tate of Buffalo NY, Janice Johnson of Buffalo NY, Calvin Maurice Wells and Pete Hodges of Erie PA, James (Sue) Clinton of Springfield VA, Paul Clinton of Philadelphia PA, and Doug Clinton of Fairburn GA. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Friends are invited to call on the family, Monday, August 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown 602 West 10th St, Erie. There will be a re-past gathering at the American Legion- East Erie Post 771, 260 East 3rd St, Erie, PA 16507 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
