John M. (Jack) Turify, age 78, of West Springfield, PA passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home. He was born September 9, 1940 in Lucerne Mines, PA the son of the late Michael and Bernice Plowcha Turify.
Jack was a proud Navy veteran during the Cuban missile crisis, and had worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Ruger gun and golf club factory. He had recently checked off seeing all of the lower 48 states from his bucket list and very much enjoyed life to the fullest. To his family he was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He brought joy to the lives of so many people by playing Santa Claus for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce DeCara Turify; a son, Michael Turify, and a sister, Donna Enzbrenner.
Jack is survived by two daughters, Michele Sperrazzo and her husband Clarence of Erie and Carrie Turify of Palm Harbor, FL. He is the grandfather of Erica Montejo (Raul), Ashley Proctor (Ben), and Jessica Sperrazzo, and is the brother of Marty Osinski and Kathy Gray (William). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Thursday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
