John (Jack) Jeremiah Theuerkauf Sr., 88, of Lake City, PA, a former resident of West Palm Beach, FL, Dallas TX, and Erie, PA, passed away at his eldest daughter's residence on July 16th 2016 after losing a battle with Cancer.
Jack was born on February 23, 1928 in Lafayette, IN to Dr. Frank J. Theuerkauf Sr and Margueritta McCormick Theuerkauf. A graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School, he attended St. Bonaventure College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Early in his professional career, he was a member of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer at the Lake City Fire Department. The entirety of his professional career was spent in the Lumber business.
Over the years he was a passionate supporter of various U.S. Humane Societies. Friends and family will remember his unconditional generosity. His hobbies and interests included card games, denim, dogs, Golf, and Lincoln Town Cars. Jack was a member of the St. Jude's Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death, his infant daughter Mary Theuerkauf, his parents, his brother-in-law James Travers, his former spouse Bette Lou Julio, his sister Nan Held, and several dogs all named George.
Jack is survived by his children; John (Jay) J. Theuerkauf of Richmond, VA; Daniel Theuerkauf and his wife Tina of Gloucester, VA; M. Kathleen Iszkula of Lake City, PA; Mark Theuerkauf of Erie, PA; and Linda Theuerkauf of Richmond, VA. He is survived by 13 grandchildren; John Theuerkauf III and his wife Casey; Kelsey Hughes and her husband Garrett; Ethan Theuerkauf and his wife Kristen; Seth Theuerkauf and his wife Katelyn; Elliott Theuerkauf; Kate Iszkula; Kaleena Relovsky and her husband Josh; Kiley Iszkula; Megan Theuerkauf; Emily Theuerkauf; Ryan Theuerkauf; Kelly Shelton; Keith Shelton; and as well as two great-granddaughters; Eliza Hughes and Aurelia Relovsky. He is also survived by his siblings; Dr. Frank J. Theuerkauf Jr. and his wife Millie; Jane Theuerkauf; Mrs. Mary Ree Travers; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St, (at Powell Ave) on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 2801 West 6th St. Erie PA 16505 with Rev. John Detisch celebrant. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stacey R. and Heather M. Sanders Memorial Scholarship fund at 7820 Cole Springs Rd. Girard, PA 16417.
