John Showman

John L. Showman age 82, of Edinboro, Pa. died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

He was born in Edinboro on April 8, 1931 to the late Ralph and Serena Morse Showman.

John was a life-long farmer who founded, owned and operated Showman Farms until his retirement in 2003. He took pride in his country living, especially with his family and late wife Joyce Marie Fish, whom he married in 1948. They spent many decades together working the Showman Farms Dairy Farm until her death in 2012.

Throughout the years, John loved being outdoors and riding horses.

John is survived by his children: Rick "Bonnie" Showman of Orange Park, Fla.; Joy "Don" Grieshober of Edinboro, Gary "Laurie" Showman of Edinboro; his five grandchildren: Holly "Tom" Wellington of Waterford, Pa., John Albrecht of Waterford, Clayton "Lynette" Showman of Jacksonville, Fla., Deke "Jen" Showman of Edinboro, and Taylor Grieshober of Pittsburgh, Pa. John is also survived by his great-grandchildren Elijah, Edy, and Simon Wellington of Waterford, and Eli Showman of Edinboro. John is also survived by three brothers; Bill Showman, Raymond "Betty" Showman and Richard "Beverley" Showman; two sisters: Jane Fitzpatrick and Doris "Jim" McArdle, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial service at the Draketown Christian Church, 12460 Draketown Road, Edinboro, PA 16412 at a future date.
