John Matz

John (Jack) Robert Matz, age 92, of Sarah Reed Senior Living Apartments died Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

He was born in Erie on July 26, 1928, the son of the late Leo A. and Marie Gossman Matz.

He was a graduate of Erie Tech Memorial High School and was a member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Jean MacLean Matz.

John is survived by his two daughters Dianne Connors of Girard, PA, Susan (James) Smallhoover of Wisconsin and a son John (Linda) Matz of Arizona.  He is further survived by four grandchildren, Amy Kraft (Jason), Jim Smallhoover (Erin), Jessica Matz and Christine Matz and four great grandchildren Meghan, Olivia, James and Macy.

The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at Sarah Reed Senior Living for their kindness and care. Another special thanks to all the friends of Jack (John) and his family. Their friendship and their prayers are appreciated.

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1116 West 7^th Street, Erie, PA 16502 on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. and will be live streamed for public viewing at www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott.  Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
