John "Jack" Lipinski, Jr.
July 8, 1943 — March 9, 2024
John “Jack” Lipinski Jr, age 80, a lifelong resident of Erie, went to meet his heavenly Father on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at LECOM following a long chronic illness. We are grateful that he is finally at peace. He was born in Erie on July 8, 1943, son of the late John Lipinski, Sr, and Betty (Root) Lipinski.
Jack graduated from Erie Technological School in 1961. He served in the US Army's Fourteenth Armored Cavalry receiving an honorable discharge in January 1967. He was employed in several positions throughout the Erie area including GE, car salesman, and building material reprehensive. He retired from Nelson's Security Company in 2010.
Jack was a Friend of Bill W. for 47 years. His passion was helping other achieve long-term sobriety. He had a strong spirituality and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Anita Lipinski, siblings Sue Lipinski and Steve Lipinski.
Jack is survived by his loving wife and companion of 36 years, Marylou Brown Lipinski; children Scott Lipinski of East Carondelet IL, Shawn Lipinski and wife Wendy of Murfreesboro, TN, and Tracy Lehr and husband Eric of Allentown, PA; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; and sister Lynda Anderson of Monroe, OR.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4703 West Ridge Road of on Friday, March 15 for a celebration of Jack's life at 5:00pm followed by a dinner and a time of fellowship.
