John Thomas Joseph Infantino III, age 85, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, after a short battle with stage 4 cancer surrounded by his family. 

John served in the United State Army as a military policeman from 1958 to 1961 in Korea, upon an honorable discharge from the military, he entered Pennsylvania State Police Cadet Class #5 on February 8, 1962. With the nickname 'TIGER' he proudly served almost 30 years, retiring on January 3, 1992, as a member of Troop E, Erie. Upon retiring from the Department, John owned and operated Infantino's Driver Training from 1992 to 2015 teaching new operators how to drive. John was also an active member of St. James Catholic Church in Erie. He enjoyed attending his grandson's sporting events, State Police retiree functions, and traveling with his wife after retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion (Wesleyville) post 0571, Fraternal Order of Police Swanson Memorial Lodge #048, and Siebenbuerger Club of Erie. Highlighting his career as a Pennsylvania Trooper was a Commissioner's Letter of Commendation for his actions during an incident that occurred in December 1987. During his career as a Trooper, he was also able to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Police Science while attending Edinboro University and Mercyhurst College during off duty hours.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Grace R. and John Thomas Joseph Infantino II; sister, Mary Ann Campbell (husband Bob); In-laws, Kathryn B. and Charles C. Graham and brother-in-law, Charles V. Graham, along with a long list of close relatives.

He's survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia G. Infantino; sons, Marc J. Infantino, his wife Connie M. Infantino, and Garth A. Infantino, his wife Sonya Infantino; grandsons, Alexander T., Sebastian C. and Oliver A. Infantino; sisters, Rose Boggio (late husband Tony), Janet Biasella and husband Bill and Edie Infantino-Rauch and husband Ed.

A Celebration of Life in memory of John will be announced at a later date to allow for better weather so family and friends may attend. Private Inurnment in St. Thomas Cemetery in Corry, PA.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 2115 W. 38th St, Erie, PA 16508 or Interim Healthcare Hospice at 2206 West 15th St., Erie, PA 16505.
