John “JR” Hartigan, age 77 of Erie, was called home by the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Columbus, OH on July 10, 1938 a son of the late Joseph Raymond and Gladys Mae Forsythe Hartigan.
After graduating High School, John served in the United States Army.
He worked as an Iron Worker for most of his life with Local 348, retiring in 2005. He was a former member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan. He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed genealogy as family history was important to him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly Jeanne Luckman Hartigan in 2011 and a brother, Patrick Hartigan in 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Jo Krupinski and her fiancé Zachary Kenneth Webb and their children, Abigail Renee’ and Cameron Joseph Swantek and Cohen Alexander and Caden Lucas Webb, of East Springfield: and a son, Christopher David Krupinski and Bethany Schroeder and their children, Travis Richards and Leigh LeDoux Krupinski and Noah David Joseph and Hannah Michele Schroeder, of Buffalo, NY: and granddaughter Alyssa Rae Swantek and great granddaughter Zella Jeanne Heath of Waterford, PA.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 2801 West 26th St (at Powell Ave) on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Friday at 10:00 am with Msgr. Henry Kriegel officiating. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
