John Keith Fischer, 72, of Erie, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024.
He was born April 7, 1952 in Erie, a son to the late Peter and Betty Jane (Hanes) Fischer.
John graduated from McDowell High School. After graduating high school, he served in the National Guard. He worked as an Assembler at GE for many years until retirement. John was a member of the Moose Club, enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, playing dominos, and most of all, loved being a grandfather and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, David Fischer; as well as a baby brother, Roger.
John is survived by two sons, Matthew (Ashley) Fischer, Kevin (Patti) Nolan; a daughter, Allison Fischer (Sean); three grandchildren, Brooks, Emma, and Briggs; a brother, Richard (Sue) Fischer; nieces, Amy Pettis, Laura Fischer; his former wife and best friend, Theresa Heinrich; nieces, Emily Jurges and Megan Krivonak, as well as best friends, Natalie and David Kubiak.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
Friends are invited to call at Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., on Friday, November 22 from 4 until 7. A funeral service will be held there on Saturday, at 11:00 AM. Burial and military honors to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in John's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
