John N. Fehr, age 64, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Erie on June 6, 1952, a son of Lavina McKee Fehr of Girard, and the late Russell R. Fehr.
John graduated from Girard High School and Vo Tech in 1970. He received his welding certification and Vo Tech and was employed by many wonderful companies. He went on to teach welding at both Fortis and EIT.
He was a well-respected welder by his colleagues and associates. John’s artistry for metal working defined his passion for his craft. He was a skilled self-proclaimed jack of all trades. He always was willing to lend a hand or tool to anyone he knew.
You could find him fishing and kayaking at the Peninsula or enjoying time out at the farm. John had a strong fondness for Harley Davidson Motorcycles; he owned several through his life. He and his friends would take to the open road and drive toward adventure.
He could be seen sitting on the porch with his cup of coffee with Maggie and Peter at his side, saying hello to our good neighbors. He had a knack to engage everyone in a good conversation. John was loved and will truly be missed by all his family, including the Wroblewski’s and many wonderful friends
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancée of 8 years, Katherine Wroblewski of Erie; a brother, Michael Fehr and his fiancée Gloria Bishop of Springboro; two sisters, Diane Simpson and her husband, Armand of Conneautville and Cathy Klemm and her husband Jeffrey of Albion. He is further survived by several, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
