John Desanti

John James DeSanti, age 80, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Saint Vincent Hospital due to a short illness.

He was born on February 21, 1942, in Erie, the second son to the late John and Lucy Ferrare DeSanti.

After graduation from Erie Technical High School, John enrolled in Findlay College where he received his bachelor’s degree in education. He then returned to Erie and taught in the Erie School District for more than 30 years. John belonged to the YMCA, where he enjoyed playing handball and participating in many successful tournaments. He loved watching NFL games though he never had a favorite team. John was a huge fan of the New York Yankees and Ohio State University football, as John would always say, “Go Buckeyes!”.

He will be forever missed by his brother, Joseph DeSanti (wife, Mary); nephew, Joseph P. DeSanti; great nephews, Joseph K. DeSanti and Benjamin T. DeSanti (wife, Madison); and numerous cousins and their children.

Friends are invited to attend a 10:00 A.M. Memorial Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach St, Erie, 16509, on Monday, January 23, 2023. Arrangements are in the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc., Downtown, 602 W. 10^th St., Erie 16502.
