John A. Cloyd age 63 of Erie, died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at home.
He was born on December 14, 1952 in Erie, PA a son of the late Harold S. and Marie Cross Cloyd.
John was a student at McDowell High School and received a degree in Nursing from Edinboro University and worked for Pleasant Ridge Manor. He also served his country in the US Navy. He was a very gifted man and not only played music but sang lead in a band. He was a gifted artist and very mechanical.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward “Eddie” Cloyd and a sister, Linda Cloyd Folsom.
John is survived by three children: Ian, Angelique, and Tanya; two sisters: Velma “Sallie” Shipley and her husband Daniel of Marthasville, MO and Patricia “Trisha” Cloyd of Erie. He also leaves a brother, William Cloyd and his wife, Krys Renzi of Whitehall, MD. Several nephews also survive, along with several good friends.
Services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, 602 W. 10th. St., Erie.
