John “O.G.” Floyd Carder, age 46, of Erie, passed away at UPMC Hamot on September 1, 2015.
He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on August 20, 1969, a son of the late John F. Durrah and Effie Mary Carder.
John graduated from Strong Vincent High School.
He loved music, cooking, dancing, playing cards and chess, and being around his family. He was also a loving father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Johnterria Carder, an aunt Gloria Carder, an uncle Zander Carder and a brother Urie Reed.
John is survived by his wife, Eva L. Matlock Carder, two sons, Wayne Saunders of Ft. Lee, VA and Eric Johnson of Erie; seven daughters, Joyce (Greg) Spain, Talisha Hall, Jessica Matlock, Lakesha Hall, Johntayz’sha, Johneva and Charita Carder and eleven grandchildren. Five Sisters, Patricia Carder, Sharon Caviness-Chandler, Bessie Carder, Kavella Solis and Junella (Tyrone, Sr.) Rule, a brother, Marcus (Karen) Carder, a brother-in-law, Ricky Barnes, a sister-in-law, Alma Reed and his best friend Jerry Kaminski also survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, on Thursday from 10 am until the time of service there at 12 noon.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
