John Barnett

John H. Barnett age 85, of Erie, passed away Friday September 9, 2016 at Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born in London, England on May 19, 1931 a son of the late Herbert and Marge Fern Barnett.

John graduated from the Naval Academy in Greenwich, England. He was employed as the Chief Bar Keeper by the Q.E. II Cunard Lines. John enjoyed English soccer, boxing and was an animal lover.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Roy Barnett and his brother, Joe Barnett. John is survived by his sons Steven John Barnett “Kathleen Ann” of Erie, and Nicholas Barnett “Lynn” of Nassau, Bahamas. He is further survived by 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and dear friend and handyman of 15 years, Wallace Rieger.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street on Tuesday, September 13, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Private burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the A.N.N.A. Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
