It’s time for me to say goodbye. I lost my battle. Anyone that knows me, knows it was hard fought. No life is perfect, but still can be fulfilling. Mine had many cherished memories.
On November 13, 1947, I was born in my parent’s (Frank and Dorothy Boback) living room in Vestaburg, the only girl of five children. My brothers are Frank, Fall River, Mass; Raymond (deceased) (Jeanne), Indianapolis, IN; Bruce, Ladson, SC; and Matthew, Vestaburg, PA.
My three children are Tommy (Missy), Tidioute; Johanna, Vestaburg; Frank, Fredericktown; and foster daughter, Missy (Derrick) Charleroi and three grandchildren.
I was a foster parent to many children and especially enjoyed fostering teenage girls for many years. To this day, I’m visited by some and they still call me mom. Before graduating from Beth-Center in 1965, I was a Brownie, Girl Scout, Sr. Girl Scout and achieved Ambassador rank equivalent to Eagle Scout. One of the joys in my life is animals, especially cats. Through my life, I have fostered 103, each with their own personality. My Goldie has lived 28 years. I volunteered at Greene County Humane Society for over 10 years. The love of my life was my dog, Gretchen, the most loyal companion I’ve ever had. There’s not enough tears to express how much I miss her.
Some of my other joys were counted cross-stitch. Some of my pieces had over 64,000 stitches. My time was also spent doing Jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, working with wood building cat houses and sewing. I loved working with my hands.
For over 20 years I bartended at several area bars. One of the most memorable was American Legion Post 391 in Fredericktown. My guys there were the best. I miss our fun and laughs.
Who can say they have a friend for over 70 years? I have four! Where one was, so were the others. To this day we laugh and cry together. I love you Cindy, Lois, Gail and Ceil. I will miss you. Now we are four
And now I must leave you to be with my Father. It is my time and my work here is done. In my prayers I ask my Father if I could watch over His animals and to see my pets again. I miss my Gretchen, Dimples, Jill, Velvet, Tish and Amanda, just to name a few.
So I leave this world and friends. Be kind, Love each other and God loves you. Until we meet again. Bye, God loves you.
There will be no viewing. A memorial will be held at my house at a later date.
