Johann Cherry Fucci

Johann Cherry Fucci, age 90, of Millcreek passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in Cherry Hill, Titusville on September 30, 1932 a daughter of the late Wesley and Theola Glosser Cherry.

Johann worked as an operator at Niagara Plastics for many years.

She enjoyed playing darts, bowling, and dancing. She was an excellent knitter and crocheter and enjoyed winning many first-place awards for her crocheted blankets. She loved taking bus trips with friends and always enjoyed a good gin and tonic. She was always up for watching NASCAR, dancing and listening to country music. Johann loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow. They could never beat her at rummy even when they would cheat like her! She made them the best white toast around and will be missed by them all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Llyod Gates; her second husband, Ralph Fucci; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cindy Cherry; a son, Mark Alan Gates and a daughter-in-law, Deborah Gates.

She is survived by her 3 children, Debbie Schwab, Steve Gates and Dean Gates (Ann); a brother, Gary Glosser (Chris) and a sister, Martha Lowes; grandchildren, Jerry and Denise Schwab, Tracy Schwab (Dion Clemente), John and Lacy Costlow, Larae Jimenez (Jesus- who is preceded in death), Bradley and Carly Gates, Mark and Kate Gates, Jenny and Tony Troup and Makenzie Gates; great-grandchildren, Gage and Leannah Schwab, Brittany Ballew, Brandon Madura, Kollin Schwab, Kalynne Matter (Makensey Kauffman), Cayden Schwab, Takoda Troup, Kynlei Pytlarz and Amos Gates; nieces and nephews, Cory Glosser, Billy Lowes, and Rhonda and Karen; and Mama Jo to Sharon Schmalenbach (Silly Billy).

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W 26th Street, Erie on Friday from 10a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the Funeral Home.
