Joanne D. (Sedwick) Kurczewski

August 13, 1932 — May 17, 2024

Joanne D. (Sedwick) Kurczewski, age 91, of Erie, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at LECOM Presque Isle Nursing and Rehabilitation following a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 13, 1932, in Erie, to the late Chester and Virginia (Zielinski) Sedwick.

As Joanne raised her family, she was always busy with any one of her many interests and talents. She was very active in the community especially at the Summit Township Senior Center and assisting with the AAA driving courses. Joanne loved crafting and creating things. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning and her lovely flowers. Joanne was always involved in a new project so much so that her family couldn’t keep up with her!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Kurczewski, in 1997; her son, John Kurczewski; granddaughter, Jennifer Worst and great granddaughter, Celestyn.

Joanne is survived by her daughters, Laurie Koch and Barbara Condon; sons, Richard Kurczewski and Robert Kurczewski; grandchildren, Andrew Koch, Brittany Solvedt, Jeremy Kurczewski, Nicolas Kurczewski, Lily Kurczewski, Joshua Kurczewski, Abigail Kurczewski, Angeline Kurczewski and Evan Kurczewski and a great granddaughter, Penelope. She is further survived by her siblings, Thomas Sedwick, James Sedwick and Janet Sauers.

A private burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Downtown, 602 W.10th Street.
