Joan Fritts

Joan M. Wrzeszcz Fritts, age 80, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at her residence with her loving family at her side.

She was born on May 9, 1941, in Erie, a daughter to the late Al and Bertha Pasnik Wrzeszcz.

Joan graduated from East High School. Joan supported her son from kindergarten through his time at Cathedral Prep with his wrestling career. Joan was very proud of all of his accomplishments especially watching him finish 2nd in the State of Pennsylvania for wrestling during middle school. The family loved to travel and look for tough competition. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them through wrestling and gymnastics. Joan enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting antiques. She, like the rest of her family, was an avid Steelers fan. Elvis Presley was one of Joan’s favorite singers. Joan was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her second great-grandchild, Zoey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosalie and Anna.

Joan will be forever missed by her husband of fifty years, Richard Fritts; her daughter, Sheila Fritts Frank; her son, David Fritts; a granddaughter, Sarah; four grandsons, Frankie, Brandon, Corey and Gavin; a great granddaughter, Aubree; a brother, John Wrzeszcz; and her nephew, Sean Becker. Sheila and David, were both nurses, and took care of Joan at home along with her caring and compassionate grandchildren, whom she loved as much as they loved her.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc Downtown, 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, PA 16502.
