Joan Margaret DiRienzo

Joan Margaret Paszko DiRienzo age 87 passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024

She was born on October 29, 1936 in Erie to the late John and Mary Schwartz Paszko. 

Joan graduated from St. Benedict’s Academy in 1954 and then earned a Master’s degree in Nursing from St. Joseph School of Nursing. She worked for 38 years at AHN St. Vincent Hospital, retiring in 1998. She was an avid reader, crochet and working her flower garden. She also enjoyed Thursday night bingo with her sister at St. Paul’s and her trips to Las Vegas. Since high school, she enjoyed gathering with her “Club Girls” and had many special moments playing cards, traveling and gathering for dinners.

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband Thomas DiRienzo, Sr.

She is survived by her children: Susan Prince (Brad), Thomas DiRienzo, JR. (Susan), John DiRienzo of Erie, and Kathleen Goulione (Chris) of Harborcreek; and grandchildren: Kristina Kiddo (Nicholas), Alyssa Anthony (Mike), Heather Baker, Douglas Baker, Katelyn Goulione, Christian Goulione, John Jr. DiRienzo, Emilia DiRienzo, and Thomas W. DiRienzo; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call on the family at Burton Quinn Scott West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie, PA on Tuesday September 17th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday September 18th at St. Stanislaus Church, 516 E. 13th St., Erie at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jason Glover officiating.

Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery.
