Joan Cross

Joan Brew Cross, age 81, of Erie, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at her residence.

She was born in New Brighton, PA on April 22, 1937 the daughter of the late William and Eleanor Hendrickson Brew.

She was a 1955 graduate of Beaver High School and attended Grove City College.

Joan was a loving wife and mom. She enjoyed golfing, cards, and wintering in Captiva Island with her husband.

She was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, Sunnyside Home for Girls, Jr. League of Erie, and was a volunteer for the Hamot Aid Society.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Cross and a sister Jane Colwell..

She is survived by three sons: James Cross and his wife Jackie of Fairview; Jeffery Cross and his wife Janet of Wattsburg; Peter Cross and his wife Jill of Fairview; a brother, William J. Brew Jr. of Beaver, PA;  ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th St. (at Powell Avenue) Thursday from 4 to 7pm.and may attend services will be there Friday at 11am. with Rev. Keith Sundberg officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
