Jimmie Lee Jordan age 67 of Erie, died Tuesday, December23, 2014 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Pachuta, MS on November 25, 1947, a son of the late Purvis and Lola Mae Eastling Jordan Sr. He was a graduate of Ellisville High School. After coming to Erie, he worked many years at the General Electric Plant, retiring several years ago. Jimmie was a Dallas Cowboys fan, loved hunting and fishing, playing cards and betting on the horses at the casino.
In addition to his parents Jimmie was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Ruth Bloomfield and an infant brother. He is survived by a daughter, Teresa A. Jordan along with 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He also helped to raise Ramone, Andre, Jada, and James Tamplin. He leaves five brothers; Purvis Jordan Jr., Otis Jordan (Ida), Thomas Jordan, and Tammy Jordan, all of Erie, and Henry Jordan of Laurel, MS. Four sisters remain; Mary Bonner, Barbara Barnett (Gregory), Gloria Marsh, all of Laurel, MS, and Billie Jefferson of Detroit, MI. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins whom, he loved, also remain. He will be dearly missed by his friend, Rosie Beason.
Friends may call at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, Pa. 16510 on Monday from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and are invited to services there on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Reverend Darrold Hobson officiating. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 757 East 26th Street, Erie, Pa. 16504.
