Jerry Stapp

Jerry “Shark” Stapp, age 57 of Erie, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born in Erie on May 22, 1960, a son of James Stapp and the late Lula McDonald Stapp.

Jerry graduated from Academy High School, class of 1979, and worked for the CSX Railroad for 34 years until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of New Generation Ministries Church.

He loved to cook, enjoyed watching TV, playing card games, and spending time with family.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife Terri Lee Stapp.

He leaves to cherish memory his father James (Sylila), his wife Sherrell Ross Stapp, son Jerry Stapp, II(Jocelyn), a daughter Talaya Marie Stapp(Jimmee Mills), brothers Rev. James(Evangelist Helen) Jr., Rev. Percy(Suzanne), Terry, Johnny(Kathy), and Charles(Barbara) Stapp; sisters Mary Ann Lawson, Ella Mae McAdory, Annette(Will) Gillespiee, Rose Stapp, half-sister Ann Ruth Spruel, step sisters Ruth Walker and Linda (Jerome) Griffin, and stepdaughter Syvonne (Ray) Raiford.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., on Saturday, February 10^th from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm.

Private interment will be at a later date in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
