Jeffrey P. Kraus

Jeffrey P. Kraus, 61, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Erie on October 6th, 1963, a loving son to Marilyn Way Kraus and the late Paul B. Kraus.

Jeff graduated from Fairview High School, class of 1981. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1985. During his childhood, he was a boy scout; his dad was the leader. He loved woodworking, hardware stores, boats, sailing, road trips, historical landmarks, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He adored his mother and kept great care of her through the years.

He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. Jeff was an avid skier, having taught his wife and daughters. He could fix anything, except broken Barbie heads. He was always known to order the finest glass of lemonade at any restaurant that may have it. Jeff most of all loved attending his girls’ activities from swimming, water polo to volleyball and track. He loved dogs, especially fond of his Lenny and Betty.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Mansur; and brother-in-law, Kurt Sahlman.

Jeff is survived by his mother; his loving wife, Kim Oakes Kraus; two daughters, Caroline and Elizabeth Kraus; brother, Kevin (Pascale) Kraus; sister, Kathy Sahlman; and brother-in-law, Robert Mansur, and his three sons, Paul, Daniel, and Joseph Mansur. He is further survived by several in-laws, cousins, and friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie on Saturday, February 15th from 10 AM until the time of service there at 12 PM. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
