Jeannette Desko

Jeannette “Jean” Mitcho Desko, age 86, of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.

She was born in Erie, on October 13, 1929, a son of the late Nicholas and Mary Hulana Mitcho.

Jean graduated from Girard Union Rice Avenue High School in 1947. She was a charter member of Holy Cross Church and had been a longtime Fairview resident.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Desko; a son, Anthony Allen Desko and a sister, Mary Beam.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jean Desko of Fairview; her siblings, Elizabeth Licsko of Girard; Nick Mitcho and his wife, Rita of Girard, Patricia Kopycinski of Mansfield, OH, and Anthony Mitcho and his wife Barbara of Fairview; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Sunday from 1pm-5pm, and are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Rd, Fairview on Monday at 10am. Burial will be at Sterrettania Cemetery.
