Jeannette Dellecurti

December 3, 1937 — July 29, 2016

Jeannette (Jan) Liebel DelleCurti 78 of Millcreek, went to her Lord on Friday, July 29, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jan was born in Erie on December 3, 1937, the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Whitman) Liebel. Jan graduated from East High School in 1955. Jan worked for WICU TV for 29 years prior to her retirement in May of 1996 during which she was a member of NABET Local # 28. Jan was also a member of AARP, La Nova Aurora Club and Polish Falcons Nest # 123.

Jan has been a member of St Paul’s RC Church for over 50 years during which she served as Eucharistic Minister, Alter Server, Lector, and Sacristan and served on various committees including Parish Council. Jan was a hugger for the Millcreek Special Olympics and volunteered at Brevellier Village and also loved reading, bowling and traveling, but most importantly spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband John DelleCurti Sr. who passed away February 28, 2002 and a brother Raymond Liebel Jr. who passed away May 2, 1988. She is survived by her three sons, John Jr. (Melanie), Ralph, and Raymond (Della Wysocki) and her daughter Jeannette all of Erie. She is also survived by one brother Edward Liebel (Patty) of Wallingford, CT and two sisters Helen Szparaga, and Carol (Edward) Lewandowski; 5 grandsons, Joshua Wood, Jacob, Zachary, Vincent and Dominic DelleCurti and one granddaughter, Victoria DelleCurti. Jan is further survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and numerous friends all of which will miss her greatly.

Jan’s unfailing faith in our Lord, her courage and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was and is her family and friends’ rock.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth St. Erie, PA 16502 on Sunday, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Paul’s RC Church at 1617 W. 16th St on Monday, at 10 am. Interment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery immediately following the mass.
