Jean Wambaugh

August 21, 1924 — January 12, 2018

Jean Marie Wambaugh, age 93, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2018 at Saint Mary's of Asbury Ridge.

Jean was born to Harold and Lorena Davis in Albion, PA on August 21, 1924. Jean was a strong, positive woman who overcame many challenges as a child and young adult. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean was devoted to her family and loved her home, gardening and her friends.

Jean was a stay-at-home mom for many years before returning to the workforce.  She worked for the Millcreek School District in several school cafeterias and in a variety of positions including manager. Jean's kind and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. When asked late in life what her advice was for life, she said "Do your best." Jean certainly lived that advice.

Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Francis Edward Wambaugh, better known for decades on Erie radio as Frank Martin, Erie's "Morning Mayor."

Jean is survived by her three daughters, Judith Ward of Erie, PA; Linda Wambaugh and her partner, Stuart Leyton, of New York, NY; and Theresa Dudenhoefer and her husband, Alan Dudenhoefer, of Cary, Illinois as well as three grandchildren, Frank Myers, Michael Ward, and David Ward.

The family wishes to extend our thanks to the staff at Saint Mary's Asbury Ridge for their wonderful care.

There will be no visitation and services will be private. Arrangements by the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St.
