Jean Hedderick

Jean L. Hedderick, age 97, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Sarah Reed Senior Living.

She was born in Erie on August 28, 1924, the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Leona Cornell Hedderick.

Jean graduated from the former Academy High School.

She was the Treasury Supervisor in the Secretary-Treasurers office of GTE, retiring in 1981 after 40 years.

Jean was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, which later merged with Luther Memorial Church, American Business Women’s Association: Presque Isle Chapter, Lutheran Home Volunteer Auxiliary, Asbury Senior Group, Kandy Kids Bowling League, Zukor Club Ladies Auxiliary and Independent Telephone Pioneer Association. She also served on the Board of Directors at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School and the Lutheran Home Board of Governors.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by cousins, Ray Cornell and Bertha Leslie.

She is survived by several cousins including: Patricia Scanlon of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathleen Cornell of Erie and Robert Cornell (Flora) of Volant, PA.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 West 26^th St., Erie, PA 16506 on Wednesday July 20, 2022 from 1 until the time of service there at 3 p.m. with Reverend Brian Moran of Luther Memorial Church officiating. 

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
