Jean Forinash

"Loved her children and grandchildren"

     Jean Anne Thornton Forinash, 74, of Erie, died Wed., Oct. 1, 2014 at St. Vincent Health Center.  Formerly of Sarah Reed Retirement Center.  She was born June 27, 1940, in Albion, PA daughter of the late Gilbert and Gertrude Bishop Thornton.  A 1958 graduate of Northwest High School, she was affiliated with Stairways Behavioral Health.  She was a member of Christian Assembly and Barkawa Singing Group, and enjoyed attending church and traveling to visit family.
     She was preceded in death by a brother, George Thornton and a sister, Pauline Thornton.
     Survivors include two daughters, Julie A. Barrett and husband Randy of Erie and Cynthia R. Thayer of Cambridge, PA; a son, John Forinash and wife Elaine of Strongsville, OH; three sisters, Mary Finder and husband Mark, June Disney, and Joyce Bace, all of Mesa, AZ; three brothers, Rudy Thornton and wife Kathy of Albion, PA, Gilbert Thornton and wife Carol of Chardon, OH, and Leonard Thornton of Cheyenne, WY; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service there at 3 p.m.  The Rev. David J. Frank of Christian Assembly will officiate.
