Jean M. (Malizia) DePalma, age 86, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 in Fredericksburg, Va., at Carriage Hill Health & Rehab. Jean was born in Erie on September 9, 1931, the daughter of the late Luigi and Italia (Archelletti) Malizia.
A longtime resident of Erie, she was Treasurer of St. John of God Society at St. Paul's Catholic Church and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic church. Jean was a loving, caring and selfless person that would do anything for her family, friends and the community.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Malizia and a sister, Niccolina DePalma.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, George DePalma, and their children; Martin DePalma (Evelyn) of Woodbridge, Va., Mark DePalma (Jane) of Fredericksburg, Va., Mary Ann Desjardin, and Marcia Ann DePalma of Erie. She is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Rigazzi, and Carol Sobolewski, as well as nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Friends may call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th and Liberty St., on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2401 W 38th St. Entombment will be in Calvary mausoleum.
