Jay B. Kinney, Jr., age 87, of Erie, passed away Friday November 30, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Girard on June 21, 1931 a son of the late Jay B. Kinney, Sr. and Helen McGahen Kinney.
Jay was an army veteran and served overseas during the Korean War. Upon his return he worked at various companies, including, GE, Kolb Construction and Chatterton Trucking Co.
He was a collector of Royal Daulton jugs and figurines. In his younger days, Jay enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. He liked watching classic movies, gardening and eating out.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Graden, Charlotte Illig, Robert Kinney, Billy Kinney and Judy Kinney.
Jay is survived by his two daughters, and Jacqueline Sitter and her husband, Peter of Rochester, NY and Jaynette Simmons of Erie; three grandchildren, Scott Sitter and his wife Erin of Raleigh, NC, Jenny Lindsay and her husband Adam of Webster, NY, and Jason Sitter and his wife Lindsay of Raleigh, NC; and 6 great grandchildren, Nathan, Owen, Addy, Brayden, Easton, and Graham (on the way). He is also survived by a sister, Marjorie Lesik and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Wednesday at 11 am.
Burial will be immediately after the service at the Girard Cemetery with full military honors.
