Jay Ericson

Jay E. Ericson, age 59, of Erie, PA, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on April 10, 2022. He was born in Erie, November 14, 1962, son of the late William E. and Beverly Buerk Ericson.

Jay was a graduate of McDowell High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Mercyhurst University. He worked as a telephone operator at Verizon for 14 years and also worked at the family owned Ericson’s Service Station in Waterford.

He was a longtime member of Luther Memorial Church and the former Bethany Lutheran Church. Jay also enjoyed camping, history, politics and traveling, especially to Gettysburg, PA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn M. Ericson in 2011 and a sister, Robin Ericson.

Jay is survived by daughters, Alexandra Ericson and her fiancé, Lucas Schrimper and Samantha Ericson, all of Erie; an uncle, David Buerk (Norma), of Waterford; mother and father-in-law, Sam and Lori Sucato, of Harborcreek, along with several cousins.
