Janet M. Ziegler O'Lone, 69, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at her home in Erie. She was born May 28, 1945, in Erie, daughter of the late John W. and Helene VanTassel Ziegler. She was a bartender for thirty years working at various social clubs including Penn, Starlite, Cascade, Polish Falcons and PNA. She belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Pulaski Club where she served on the Board of Directors, and also belonged to the Siebenbuerger, Alliance of Transylvania Saxons (A.T.S), PNA, Polish Falcons, CYS, Knights of St. John, Slovaks, Holy Trinity and Moniuszko Clubs. Janet enjoyed bowling with the A.T.S. and the Friday Night Ladies Leagues and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians Fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. "Bob" O'Lone, in 1997, and a brother, William "Bill" Ziegler.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Gorzynski and Donald Ziegler and wife Sheli Adams, all of Erie; a sister, Judith H. Himes and husband Gerald of Peoria, AZ; brother, Gordon Kidder and wife Audrey of Conesus, NY; five grandchildren, Carrie DeBello, Amber Ziegler, Josh Adams, Spencer Ziegler and Madalyn Ziegler, all of Erie; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of a memorial service there at 5 p.m. The Rev. Erik Young of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be designated to the family in care of the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA 16502.
