Janet Kreindel

Janet Kreindel, a beloved member of the community, cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on April 29, 2024, in Delray Beach, FL. She was 72 years old. 
 
Born on June 14, 1951, in Erie, PA, Janet was the daughter of the late Raymon S. and Frances Kimmel Porris. She spent her early years in Erie before eventually making her home in Cleveland, OH.
 
A graduate of Academy High School, Janet earned a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. 

Those who were fortunate enough to know her remember Janet fondly for her culinary talents. She took great pleasure in cooking delicious meals and baking treats for her loved ones, eventually starting her own candy company, Basket Case. Her kitchen was always filled with warmth and laughter – and chocolate.
 
Family was at the center of Janet's world, and her love and support for her children Eric Kreindel of Aventura, FL and Samantha (Jason) Richter of Plantation, FL and her granddaughter, Lila Richter, who brought immense joy to Janet's life. Janet is also survived by her brother, Richard S. Porris of Erie. 
 

Funeral services will be held graveside on May 6 at 1pm at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 4523 Love Road in Erie, PA. 

Shiva will be held on Tuesday, May 7 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at 2452 Richmond Road, Beachwood, OH.  Arrangements are under the care of Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie.
