Janet L. King, age 71, of Fairview, passed away, Sunday December 18, 2016 at St. Vincent Health Center.
She was born in Oil City on May 20, 1945, a daughter of the late Robert L. and Hazel Heckathorne Palm.
Janet graduated from Cranberry Area High School in 1963. She was the Director of Housekeeping and Sewing Room at Pleasant Ridge Manor for 49 years.
She loved baking and had owned Jan’s Cake Decorating. Her cakes were well known in the area. Jan loved playing bingo and was a huge animal lover. She will be missed by her 2 “kids” PJ and Pepper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Graham in 2016 and Nancy Palm in 1994 and a niece, Linda Hicks in 2016.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ruben King. She is further survived by two nephews, Bob Graham and his wife Joyce and Rich Lauer and his wife Judy; and a brother in law, Lowery Hicks. She will be greatly missed by her best friend, Sandie Vorse.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Tuesday from 2pm until the time of the service at 6pm. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Garden.
