Janet Johnstone

Janet L. (Komarnitzky) Johnstone, age 67, of Erie passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at LECOM at Presque Isle. She was born September 19, 1954 in Selma, AL the daughter of the late John and Audrey (Williams) Komarnitzky.

A longtime resident of Erie, Janet had worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney’s department store until her illness. She also had enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and going out with friends and family until her medical condition prevented it.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold Looker and a sister, Michelle Komarnitzky.

Janet is survived by her husband, Gary L. Johnstone and their four children; Rachel Fraser (Eric) of Crucible, PA; Jill Robertson (Jeremiah) of Albion; Jerrod Johnstone (Christine) of Erie and Brandon Johnstone of Erie. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is the sister of Kathy Bliss (Bill) and Kevin Looker, and is the step-sister of Nick and Ted Komarnitzky and Leslie Specht. Further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^{th &} Liberty St. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at which time Funeral Services will be held. Burial will be private.
