Janet Fisher

Janet E. Fisher, age 51, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness. She was born in Erie, a daughter of the late Theodore Ralph & Eileen Charlick Ruef. Janet’s family was most important in her life; she loved them so much. She worked many years as a telephone operator for Alert Communications. She loved to cook and bake. Janet will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Joseph J. Fisher. Janet is survived by her loving husband, Arnold “Joe” Fisher; two sons, Andrew J. and Matthew L. Fisher, both of Erie; four sisters, Eileen “Mickie” Young and husband, James, Nancy Flagherty and husband, James, Lynn Ruef and husband, Harold Thaler, Peggy Proba and husband, Chester; a brother, Robert Ruef, all of Erie. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, Thursday from 6:00 pm until the time of the memorial service there at 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
