James E. Williams, age 74 of Erie, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Manor Care in Lawrence Park, PA.
He was born in Moselle, MS on April 30, 1942, a son of the late John and Emma Simmons Williams.
James graduated from Technical Memorial High School, and worked in manufacturing at Erie Malleable Manufacturing.
He enjoyed fishing, listening to the blues and working in his garden.
James was preceded in death by a grandson, David Pullium as well as by sisters; Eva Nell Williams, Lillie Jewel Lyon, and Ophelia D. Williams who passed away the day after James.
Survivors include his longtime friend Shirley Bradstock, and her children Donald Woods and his fiancée Michelle, and Tammy Williams. He is also survived by his children; Leslie Williams, and his fiancée Dyniece Stovall, Gary Williams, (Melissa) all of Erie, James Williams, Jr. (Shawntrell) of Odenton, Maryland; and Terrance Jones also of Erie along with Rodney Lofton (nephew) who he raised as a son and Charmain and Adrian Williams both of Erie. James also leaves his sisters; Philomena Hunter of Waldorf, Maryland and Lavita Williams of Erie. James also had 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd. on Saturday from 11:00 am till the time of services there at 1:00 pm with Reverend Floyd McLure officiating. Burial in Erie Cemetery.
