James Watson

James Joe Henry Watson, age 62 of Erie, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Erie on August 28, 1954, a son of the late Juitt and Jurlie Bernice Watson.

James was an irresistible guy, loved driving and helping others. James loved his car and was known as the “around town driver.” He was a great man and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will surely be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Patrina Haynes, his brother Pruitt Watson, grandmothers Tiny Jordan and Rosie Watson; grandfathers Frank Jordan and Pruitt Watson; Uncle John Pruitt Watson, Aunt Lula Pratt, a nephew Dontae Watson, and a dear friend Devonne “Munch” Williams.

Survivors include his daughter Hisonia Lyons, fiancée Cynthia Stoval, six sisters: Denise Watson and Creatha Watson both of Erie, Brenda Watson (Vernell) of Benton Harbor, MI, Jackie Mayweather of Chicago, IL, Rachell Watson of Okolona, MS, Darnetta Watson of Tupelo, MS; two brothers: David Charles Watson (Debra) of Benton Harbor, MI, Steve Hill (Shelia) of New Albany, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation and viewing at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street from 12 Noon until the time of service at 1 PM.

Burial in Erie Cemetery.
