James V. Tatalone, Jr.

James V. Tatalone Jr, age 68 of Erie, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Erie on December 9, 1954, a son of the late James V. and Doris H. Kreider Tatalone, Sr.

James was a 1973 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and was a member of their basketball team. He was an avid Penn State, Yankees and Packers fan and coached boy’s baseball in the early 90’s.

James and his wife Diane were members of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

He was also a former member of the National Club and the La Nuova Club.

In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his cousin; good friend Joe Tatalone and his in-laws, William and Anette Watson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Diane Watson Tatalone, his children James V. (Julie) Tatalone, III and Amy Tatalone (Eric) both of Erie and grandchildren, Gianna and Conor Faulkner, Jack Tatalone and a baby due in April; two brothers, Dennis (Paula Tatalone and Tom Tatalone; a sister, Patty (Rick) Deluca; brother and sister in laws, Bill Watson, Al Watson and Mary (Tim) Good; an aunt, Mary Tatalone; his good roommate and friend at Presque Isle, Jeff Carcic and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of Presque Isle Rehab and UPMC ICU Staff for their excellent care and support.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services At West Ridge 3801 West 26th St., on Wednesday, September 27th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Thursday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
