James Rich

James “Jim” R. Rich, of Cape Coral, FL and formerly of Millcreek, passed away with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, May 30^th, 2018.

He was born on April 10, 1940 a son of the late Raymond H. and Alberta A. Weise Rich.

Jim was the co-owner of Rich Electric and also Trico Electric. He was a member of IBEW Local 56, and a Board Member for National Electrical Contractors Association. Additionally, Jim was a member of the Perry Keystone Lodge # 392, and a former member of Lake Shore Country Club where he once won a car on a fabulous shot for hole in one on the course Par 3 # 18.

He was a past member of Presque Isle Yacht Club and V.P. of Park View 1 Condo Association, Cape Coral, FL.

Jim’s passions were boating, golfing and baseball especially his beloved Yankee’s.

Jim and his wife of 58 years Mary Jane were former members of Asbury United Methodist Church and moved to Cape Coral, FL in 2004. More than any professional or community accomplishment Jim was most proud of being described by his family as the greatest husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Ricky.

He is survived by his wife whom he married April 2, 1960, Mary Jane Marshall Rich, a son, Michael J. Rich and his wife Peg, a daughter, Pam Herrmann all of Erie, and grandchildren, Alyssa Bierend and her husband Joe, Kristin Jane Herrmann and her significant other Jacob Bishop, Jamie Lynne Herrmann and Jack Herrmann.  His great-grandchildren are Joey Bierend and Melanie Jane Bishop. Jim is further survived by brother, Peter Rich and wife Nancy of Arizona along with seven nieces and nephews and many friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th Street, on Sunday June 3rd from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the funeral service there on Monday June 4th at 11 a.m.
