James Musich

March 26, 1937 — April 3, 2014

James “Jim” M. Musich Sr. age 77, of Fairview, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St. Vincent Health Center.

He was born in Struthers, OH on March 26, 1937 son of the late Joseph and Anne Pauline Musich.

Jim graduated from Struthers High School and was a member of St. Julia Roman Catholic Church and the Siebenbuerger Club. Jim was a store manager for the Joseph Horn Company. For many years he, along with his wife Patricia, has owned and operated Hyatt’s Old Fashioned Restaurant in the West Erie Plaza. This past Sunday, March 30, was the 27th anniversary of the opening of their restaurant.

Jim was a dedicated hard worker who loved his restaurant and the customers he served. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and NY Yankees fan and also appreciated classic cars.

Above all else Jim loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Musich and his mother in law, Patricia Hripko whom he was very close to.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Hripko Musich; four sons, James M. Musich Jr. and his wife Kristen of WV, Tod J. Musich and his wife Kathy of Girard, Shane E. Musich and his wife Jamie of FL, and Lance A. Musich and his wife Annette of Fairview; 9 grandchildren; Trista, Ryan, Karlie, Jakob, Kaeden, Greyson, Anyssa, Kelsey, and Halle; three step grandchildren, Lexi, Sydney, and Macie and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. Bruce Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
