James “Jim” Montgomery, age 46, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Erie on August 2, 1968 a son of the late Leland V., Jr. and Jacqueline Denton Montgomery.
Jim graduated from McDowell High School and worked at Industrial Sales and Manufacturing. He loved his family and was a friend to everyone, always helping everyone who had a need. He was a great NASCAR and hockey fan and enjoyed fishing and golfing. He also had a great talent for repairing automobiles.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Wendy (Peres) Montgomery; a son, Branden Montgomery; a daughter, Alexandria Montgomery; a sister, Lisa V. Montgomery and two brothers, Leland “Lee” (Lisa M.) Montgomery, all of Erie and Edward “Ed” (Kelly) of Salem, OH. Father and mother-in-law Victor and Cindy Peres; brother-in-laws Kenneth (Sheila) Peres and Michael (Kelly Carlson) Peres of Erie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue) on Wednesday from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm till 9:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service at New Hope Presbyterian Church on Thursday at 11:00 am with Reverend Charles McClung officiating.
Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family C/O Burton Funeral Home.
