James Mitchell

James “Jim” Howard Mitchell, age 79, of North East passed away Thursday October 3, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Jim was born June 1, 1934, in Oil City, PA son of the late Howard and Fanny Bell Masterson Mitchell. He graduated from Oil City High School, served in the U. S. Army and was employed at General Electric for many years until his retirement in 1996. Jim loved cars, hunting and camping. Along with his parents Jim was preceded in death by a son Bruce Mitchell; a granddaughter Melissa, two sisters Joanne Greenlee and Helen Ames and two brothers Paul and Jerry Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Ester “Jane” Anthony Mitchell; a daughter Deborah Ostrowski (John) and four sons Michael (Patricia), Thomas (Renee), Brian and Patrick Mitchell. He is further survived by 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
