James Russell Lee, Jr., “Rusty” age 54, of Erie, PA, made his transition from this life to eternal life with the Lord, on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Portsmouth, VA, first born son of Jeanette Lee Tyson and the late James Russell Lee, Sr. on May 29, 1962. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Terry Stapp.
James graduated from Academy High School in 1979 and then joined the U.S. Navy, which gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world.
He enjoyed life in Erie, and was employed by the City of Erie, working in various departments.
Rusty was a God fearing man, loved to spend time with his family and friends, playing pool, home repair and interior decorating. He also enjoyed selling cars, singing, playing bass guitar, and the keyboard, along with being an avid dog lover, especially pit bulls.
Rusty leaves to honor and cherish his memory, mother Jeanette Lee (William E.) Tyson of Florida, four daughters, Sheah Lee (Joseph), Shannan Lee, Jamie Lee, and Davonna Lee of Erie; two sons Emmanuel Lee and Rashad Lee of Maryland. James is further survived by his sisters, Alecia Lee, Claudia Poole, Stacy McLaurin and Sabrina McLaurin, and brother, Tracy (Joe) Lee, 16 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all over the world, including a special friend Alice Flemings.
Friends may call Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00p.m., with Pastor Ben and Jennie Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
