James Lambert

January 9, 1931 — October 27, 2015

James L. Lambert age 84, of Fairview, passed away peacefully at his home, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.

He was born in St. Mary’s, PA on January 9, 1931 a son of the late William B. and Avis Llewellyn Lambert.

James graduated from Academy High School in 1949 and studied Forestry at Penn State University. He served in the Navy on the USS Holder during the Korean War. James retired from General Electric after forty years working as a draftsman. Following retirement, he and his wife owned and operated Oriental Carpets by Airiash in Fairview.

He was an avid train collector and enjoyed train hunts. He and his wife loved to travel. James will be remembered for being quite the jokester.

He was a former member and usher at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant..

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Hewitt Lambert in 2012.

James is survived by his son, Matthew H. Lambert and his fiancée, Cindy and daughter, Vikki Krugger and her husband, Ken, all of Fairview; grandson, Markus Krugger and granddaughter, Erika Shaw.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard, on Thursday from 3-7pm., and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, at the funeral home at 10am. with Reverend Dennis Chludzinski, officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
